Perhaps the most exciting book of the Bible, and almost certainly the most misunderstood and controversial of the 66 Canonical books, Revelation is, unfortunately, often neglected by many Christians. Pastors & teachers seem to fear it complexities, controversy, and sometimes-frightening contents often opting simply not to deal with it at all. Ironically though, it is the only book of the Scripture which actually brings a blessing upon those who read it. Revelation is the capstone of the Holy Bible. It brings together themes and storylines that began in the early chapters of Genesis and ties them up in the amazing and awesome events of the "End Times". It draws upon symbols, ideas, themes, and other elements from the entirety of the rest of the Bible - especially the Old Testament. A diligent and comprehensive study of Revelation will likely take the student to every other book of Scripture! In fact, the better a student knows the Old Testament, the clearer and more familiar Revelation begins to sound. These notes were originally started in a home Bible Study in about 1998 which never finished the book. It is again being taught in a Home Fellowship as this is written in the Fall of 2003. The notes are being rewritten for that study and will continue to be updated here as they are completed. Introduction To Revelation.zip This additional file contains a number of additional tangent studies that accompany the main study notes. They are provided as additional background and as a way of "zooming in" on some of the topics that are too large to cover in depth as part of the main course. |
